I've been away for a couple of weeks, and coming home is always a bit of a downer. One of the things I genuinely look forward to, though, is walking into Bootlegger Somerset West. The team always makes me feel so welcome, and what means the most is that they actually notice when I've been away. It's such a small thing, but it makes a big difference. I wanted to give a special mention to Byron. He is an absolute ray of sunshine. He is honestly one of the nicest people I've come across. He's always smiling, always cheerful, always has something kind to say, and somehow manages to make every person who walks through the door feel welcome. I've often found myself listening to the way he speaks to other customers, and it doesn't matter who they are—everyone gets exactly the same warmth and friendliness. It's not something you can fake; it's just who he is. He's an absolute gem. A heartfelt thank you also to Amanda, Stefan, Cuthbert, Chantal and Riis, as well as the wonderful baristas who always greet everyone with a smile, and the kitchen staff who work so hard behind the scenes. It really is the people who make this place so special.
