Bootlegger Stellenbosch

One of my favourite bootlegger spots. Ideal for a nice comforting morning brunch or afternoon lunch. A variety of outside and inside seating and food and coffee is top tier

My swim team and I head to Bootleggers about once a month after our Saturday morning swim session, and it's become one of our favourite spots. The pancakes are the main reason we keep coming back (absolutely love them), but the food across the board is amazing, and it's well priced too. What really sets Bootleggers apart is the people. The managers and staff are some of the friendliest in Stellenbosch. One morning I drove past before they'd even opened and asked if I could book a table. Two hours later we arrived and it was booked and waiting for us. Super friendly, super helpful, super kind. We did have one visit where things weren't up to the usual standard, and the way it was handled says everything. The managers phoned us, checked what had gone wrong and sorted it out properly. We haven't had a single problem since. So many places don't even respond to reviews, let alone reach out personally, so finding a spot that genuinely cares about its customers means a lot. Whether it's a team breakfast or just somewhere to sit and get some work done, I couldn't recommend Bootleggers enough. The best customer service around, and I hope our swim team keeps coming back long after my time here is done.

I stopped by Bootlegger Stellenbosch last week and had such a great experience. A huge thank you to Wayden and the gentleman with the tattoos for the outstanding service—they were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. I ordered the chicken livers with a flat white, and both were absolutely delicious. The food was full of flavour, the coffee was perfectly made, and the overall atmosphere was fantastic. It's great to receive service with a smile, and I'll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
